Acclaimed American street photographer Bruce Gilden is most notable for his high energy, candid, and close-up portraiture of real people. Largely self taught, Gilden has published 18 books, was awarded a Guggenheim Fellowship in 2013, and has been featured in shows and permanent collections of museums + galleries all around the world, including the Museum of Modern Art in New York, Victoria and Albert Museum in London, Tokyo Metropolitan Museum of Photography, and J. Paul Getty Museum in Los Angeles. He was born in Brooklyn and still lives in New York with his wife and their two Russian Blue cats, Boris and Igor.
